The DFM Group was first founded in 1993 when the Dobson brothers sold their UK headquartered business, Dobson Marine Refrigeration. They invested some of the proceeds in buying the first of what was to become a series of bulk carriers
Dobson Fleet Management was initially established to manage these bulk carriers and has gradually grown into a reputable medium sized shipmanagement company.
Nowadays however, DFM do not own or part own any vessels that we manage, allowing us to fully dedicate all our resources to our managed fleet. Having its headquarters in Limassol, Cyprus, now the largest ship management centre in the world, allows DFM to operate in an environment at the forefront of the maritime community.

Latvia office was established in 2007 and operates in Riga as a branch of Dobson Fleet Management Cyprus.
The main objective of the company is to provide experienced and qualified marine personnel to reputable ship owners and ship managers, furthermore, to suggest and provide adequate training to seafarers, whenever necessary, as to increase the professionalism and continually improve the standard of services to be provided.
